Clinical Supervisors
Sheila Joseph, LCSW-S has over 20 years of experience in social work, and holds a Master's degree from California State University, Bakersfield. Since relocating to Texas in 2006, She has served diverse populations across schools, mental health, non-profits, and child and family services, ultimately specializing in medical social work within nephrology, inpatient medicine, and operative and transplant care. Mrs. Joseph is passionate about mentoring and developing ethical, culturally competent, person-centered Social Work practitioners who prioritize genuine client connection over simply passing exams. She has supervised 36 master-level social workers through the clinical licensure process!
Shajuan Alexander, LCSW-S, is an Entrepreneur, Private Practice Owner and Educator for The Culture of Health, PLLC, based in Texas and Missouri. After empowering herself to pivot in her purpose, she transitioned from corporate America into private practice and expanded into four additional pillars: mental health consulting, coaching private practice owners, clinical supervision, and immigration evaluations. As a supervisor, Shajuan functions from a strength based perspective. Providing Clinical Supervision to empower and enhance the knowledge and skill set of LMSW embarking on their clinical journey. She also has an innate passion to help Clinicians achieve their highest level of fulfillment by creating aligned, purpose-driven practices.
Connie Fredrick, LCSW-S was born and raised in Houston, TX. Southern Hospitality runs deep her veins. In fact, if she wasn't a mental health specialist, she would be in hospitality due to her passion for serving other. Connie is a servant leader who believes in leading by example through teamwork and advocacy. Connie's undergraduate degree is in psychology, while her graduate degree is in social work. Connie is a mother and wife, so she strongly models a healthy work life balance. Her Christian values dictate her work ethic, values, and beliefs in sacrificial giving. Connie founded Reinforcing Houston in 2015 and today the non-profit agency boasts 6 community-based programs that create a wraparound integrated approach to meet the needs of black and brown communities, including clinical and holistic mental health services, children and family services, health & wellness services, career development & education, basic living needs, and intern placement program that service up to 12 student interns per semester. Apart from program development, Connie loves teaching, guiding, and creating a safe place for new therapists to explore their therapeutic identity.
Pearl Bryant, LCSW-S, DSW student is the owner of Pinnacle of Purpose Counseling + Consulting, a virtual group therapy practice. She co-founded Sisters In Social Work, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the black motherhood experience. PLLC. Pearl has over 16 years of experience in social work, specializing in at-risk youth, young expecting African American mothers, and children facing crisis and trauma. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Southern University in 2007 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston in 2009. Her career spans Level 1 trauma hospitals, residential treatment facilities, nonprofit organizations, and psychiatric settings throughout Harris County, addressing trauma, crisis, grief, psychiatric issues, and adolescent identity concerns.
Pearl adopts a warm yet straightforward approach as a therapist, utilizing a solution-focused framework to assist women of color in navigating uncertainty and embracing their strengths. As a Supervisor, she incorporates principles of liberation psychology, the theory of double consciousness, and intersectionality. This helps her identify how oppressive systemic practices affect the mental health care of marginalized client's mental health care.
